A bit about the Royal Fine Food Award event…

Each year the Royal Agricultural Society (RAST) of Tasmania hosts the annual Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards. This event brings many judges from all over Australia (local and interstate) as well some international judges, together to find our country’s best produce! 

Established in 1995, our Fine Food Awards is one of the most respected and longest running food awards in Australia. Although running for over 22 years, we aim to continue evolving to keep up with the ever changing trends of the Australian food industry, consumer tastes and needs by considering new classes and sections. 

We aim to promote and encourage excellence in the Australian food industry by providing a quality bench-marking system that enables fine food producers to assess the quality of their products against their contemporaries and competitors. We encourage feedback and it is not unusual to see manufacturers approaching these awards as a learning exercise, growing and adjusting each year in an effort to improve and ultimately achieve gold, champion and reserved champion of selected categories.

The Fine Wine and Dine Dinner – The Gold Medal Experience

To celebrate and give well deserved recognition to the award winners of the Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards and those that have provided produce and beverage for the dinner, RAST hosts an annual dinner every August. This dinner is combined with our annual Royal Hobart Wine Show and is a night to be enjoyed! Included in the ticket price is a multiple course meal, designed and created by award winning, executive chef, Paul Foreman. This fabulous meal is put together using award winning produce from the previous year’s Fine Food Awards, with emphasis on using as much GOLD medal produce as possible. Therefore, this meal is to be remembered! Accompanying the award winning menu is of course, award winning wine! Included in the ticket price are beverages. Included in the selection is beer, soft drink and most importantly, gold medal wine! This event is open to everyone and TICKETS ARE PURCHASED HERE
